Our President & CEO, Bobby Gilson, comes from a family of builders and tradesman. Bobby started his career working for a remodeling contractor for many years.

Our bids are extremely thorough and transparent to allow our clients to make the most informed decision regarding their project. We also utilize BuilderTrend software to maintain schedules and to keep clients up to date with communications.
The company specialized in large renovations, additions, and kitchen & bath remodels. Here Bobby learned all aspects of construction, from foundations to finish carpentry. Later, he partnered with his parents and opened a construction company that specialized in waterproofing. In 2001, Bobby got his General Contractor's license and formed his own company specializing in kitchen & bath remodeling and property management work.
In 2005 Bobby took a Superintendent position with one of the nation’s largest homebuilders, DR Horton. This position allowed him to further his construction knowledge in a short amount of time. He built several projects ranging from single family homes to multi-family, type 5 construction. The DR Horton experience enabled Bobby to become extremely proficient in scheduling and management. Often building 40 - 50 homes of different types at one time, all in various stages of construction, Bobby became the master of the schedule. At one time he was responsible for over 100 homes under construction at the same time!
In 2008, Bobby partnered with Laura Stevens and started Distinct Builders, Inc. Laura started her career in Newport Beach where she worked in Real Estate, including Real Estate Development. She then moved to the Bay Area where she worked for a residential & commercial Real Estate Developer in San Francisco. Laura then transitioned into new home sales, working for 2 of the largest home builders in the country. During that time, Laura sold and closed more than 500 new homes, assisting buyers with decor options and financing. Laura is now a practicing Real Estate Agent with the Encinitas office of Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty. She also oversees the business and financial matters of Distinct Builders.
